Legal Counsel – Envision Pharma, UK

We have a new position for a commercial contracts lawyer to join our dedicated legal team. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Legal, you will work closely with the business, providing advice on a range of day-to-day and strategic matters. The legal team is well-respected within the organisation; the successful candidate will have the benefit of established relationships and be expected to continue to foster these good relationships in a commercial, approachable and adaptable way. The successful candidate will preferably be located in our London (Hammersmith) office, although we do not rule out location at our other UK offices.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Work with the Global Head of Legal to partner closely with our Technology Solutions Division, Group Operations and other key stakeholders to provide legal advice and support in technology licensing and digital services agreements;

  • Provide legal advice and support in respect of a range of procured services (technology and otherwise);

  • Provide support regarding corporate acquisitions, including due-diligence support and integration;

  • Assist with and implement information security and privacy compliance projects and training;

  • Assist the Global Head of Legal on general legal matters as required;

  • Identify legal risks, threats and opportunities and work with the relevant business units and functions to commercially manage the risks and threats, and to support opportunities and new strategies;

  • Proactively focus on establishing structured and timetabled reviews of precedents and policies, and assist with development of internal know-how.

The following experience and skills are required:

  • A proven commercial contracts lawyer with a technology and procured services focus;

  • Corporate acquisitions-support experience is preferred;

  • 1–3 year PQE;

  • In-house experience essential;

  • Demonstrable experience regarding contract and commercial structures for technology licensing and digital services agreements;

  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the underlying law (eg, in intellectual property, data protection and compliance) as well as issues around current themes across the market regarding SAAS, Cyber Security and Cloud activities;

  • Ability to be a trusted legal advisor to all teams;

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a commercial approach, self-sufficient and a can-do attitude;

  • Must be capable of building effective relationships and influencing a wide range of people across the organisation and externally;

  • Positive and resilient, enjoying the challenge of a diverse and at times heavy workload moving at pace;

  • Ability to quickly determine and manage priorities.
