Based in Wilmslow, UK, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Account Director who is looking to develop their medical strategy skills. Bringing over 6 years of experience in medical communications, you will be ready to take on leadership of an already successful team, delivering global and European medical programmes. In close partnership with our Medical Strategy leadership team, your role will be as the key client contact, and you will work closely with your account management and medical writing team to develop the account.

Medical Strategy/Communication Skills

  • Acting as a strategic partner to the clients, create and develop plans including proposals, strategy documents and content for global and pan-European multichannel programmes.

  • In partnership with the medical strategy leadership team, manage/drive the development of plans for client work, communicating priorities, deadlines, developments and decisions made.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key clients, stakeholders and third parties.

  • Review the teams’ work and provide constructive feedback on the tone and creative direction of the work. Take positive and timely action to address and re-align work to meet client objectives.

  • Continuously update and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of the healthcare market in which clients operate. Share this knowledge and encourage similar behaviour in the team.

  • Run/actively participate in creative brainstorm sessions, share new ideas and support and encourage colleagues.


Client Service and Satisfaction

  • Strategic partner to clients, overseeing the full portfolio of programs to ensure the delivery of campaigns and events across the team at the highest standard.

  • Promote the value and importance of client feedback, review within the team, and develop a client-focused culture.

  • Manage post event follow-up, highlighting strengths and identifying opportunities to improve future campaigns.

  • Constantly update and maintain an understanding of clients’ businesses and sectors to improve counsel, becoming an extension of the clients’ internal teams.


Commercial and Financial Management

  • Oversee the creation of program budgets, providing hands-on guidance in partnership with our Financial Director.

  • Negotiate and finalise with the client any budget adjustments and explore opportunities for any additional projects.

  • Provide accurate forecasts on the account to ensure accurate future planning.


Internal Team Management and Leadership

  • Direct line-management of client service team members.

  • Partner with Client Services lead to develop and implement effective processes for all accounts.

  • Drive appropriate training of all team members.

  • Be seen as a leader with regard to the office environment and culture, setting the tone for the client services team.
